Day 9 - The End Of The Road

I got home at about 13:30 today after about 200+ miles on motorways and dual carriageways and a generally boring and uneventful day. However the sun was shining and we didn't hit any traffic so we're grateful for that.

The total mileage for the trip was 2026 miles so that's an average of 225 miles per day. What's more impressive is that our average speed for the trip was just 48 mph. I can honestly say I've thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would love to go back to Scotland with Katie and the girls as they'd love it too.

The trip has been a massive success and all our planning went well and made life easier. The weather was excellent for the most part and there were no signs of any fuel shortages. I think the only thing I'd change would be to keep the trip a bit shorter at just 7 days. After 9 days I'm knackered!

I'm back to work tomorrow and need to treat my bike to a new rear tyre :-)
