Day 5 - The Western Highlands, a very long day

Today was another 260 mile day bringing our total to 1201 miles, but it was with a difference. about 60-70 of those miles were single track roads with passing places. This made the going very slow, but the highland scenery was breathtaking, literally,

At one point, we crested a hill and this picture postcard vista opened up before us with mountains, lochs and moorland and it took my breath away, by that, I mean that the breath actually caught in my throat because 'd never seen anything like it. This happened a couple more times throughout the day too.

We're now in our B&B in Portree on the Isle of Skye. Today has been fantastic but we both agreed it was about 50 miles too long. We wouldn't have missed it for the world though.
