Katie's Dad, Colin died peacefully yesterday afternoon. He was just 63 and had been battling bladder cancer for just over a year.

It's been a difficult few days with Katie, her Mum and her Sister maintaining a constant bedside vigil following a sharp deterioration in his health since the weekend but in the end he slipped away very peacefully. He knew it was coming and made sure he said goodbye to Rhian and Kira at the weekend and Katie was happy she'd said everything she wanted to say to him.

I told the girls this evening and we've all now got to grieve.

Colin was one of the nicest men I've known. He was always happy, chirpy and very friendly and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a good Husband (40 years), a loving Father and a very special Grampy to 3 doting Granddaughters. It's so cruel and unfair that such a nice man has to be taken from his family so soon.

Colin, if I can be just half the Husband and Father you've been, I'll be very happy. I'll miss you, Katie, Rhian and Kira miss you but we're happy you're not in pain any more.

Keep Smiling.
