I had quite a hard session this morning. I automatically skip the positive elements of my life and focus on the negative and I'm trying hard to change this. I catch myself being negative without even thinking.
My counsellor is very good at pushing me to think about my thoughts (I guess that's what she's supposed to do) and I could see lots of examples of me just dismissing positive things I've done or said and go looking for the negative.
I've got to note down some examples of incidents where I automatically think negative thoughts and try and counter these with the positive thoughts. I'm hoping that just recognising the negative thoughts will be the first step towards losing them.
