I had an appointment this morning with a CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) counsellor to assess whether it's the right course of treatment for my anxiety and depression.
It was a very useful and reassuring session and apparently I fit the bill as the type of person who would benefit the most from CBT. I'm someone who doesn't have chronic depression, I've had minor depression but have had a number of clear "episodes" with spells in between where I've been fine.
I was a little sceptical about how useful it would be when I'm currently feeling so good at the moment. Apparently it will be fine and will make sure I'm more adaptable to change.
I'm looking at a series of about 12 one-to-one sessions to help me try and combat my negative thinking and deal with the stresses and strains of normal every day life. My first full session is at 9am on Wednesday 18th May.
