I was definately more excited about going to see Cirque Du Soleil than I had realised. We decided to leave home much earlier, have a packed lunch and wander around the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.
We had a chilly lunch sitting by the Thames next to the London Eye. I have to admit that once I'm there, London is a fascinating city. There's so much going on constantly. We then had a wander around the dinosaurs at the natural history museum. I haven't been there since school and I had forgotten just how big they were. Rhian and Kira were fascinated. We'll definately go back and spend a day there.
I was a little apprehensive when we took our seats at the Royal Albert Hall as we were very high up. I wouldn't fancy your chances there if you suffered from vertigo. However when the show started it was all forgotten and I was mesmerised for the first hour until the interval. There were modern takes on clowns, jugglers, acrobats, gymnasts. Every so often I'd look at the girls faces and see the same grin and look of awe. They'd laugh out loud at the antics of the clowns.
The second half was the same mix of comedy and and dazzling displays of skill and colour. There were points were there was so much going on that you'd miss bits because you didn't know where to look.
We'd seen the show on DVD before but it doesn't come close to being there and seeing it for real, I'd recommend it to anyone. If you get the chance, go and see it.
