Christmas Do...

Yet again our Christmas do at work was shrouded in secrecy and last night after work the last thing I wanted to do after the last few weeks was go and sit and a dark smoky room with lots of people getting drunk. I just wanted to go home and hug my kids.

As it was, I was persuaded to go and followed the coach for an hour and 15 minutes. Once I spotted a signpost for Grove, I knew exactly where we were going. Sure enough a few minutes later we turned into the Williams F1 HQ and Conference centre. Cool! I'd actually visited earlier in the year at a conference but this was still a lot of fun. We got to tour the museum, had an excellent meal and they then laid on an F1 Simulator (A PC in an F1 cockpit running Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix 4) and Scalextric racing.

After watching for a while I shoehorned myselft into the F1 cockpit and managed a 1 handed lap of the Nurburgring (I couldn't actually get two arms into the cockpit and steer because my shoulders were too broad). Put in a laptime of 1m33 something. Not good but not the worst. Sadly the women completely wiped the floor with the men and deservedly got much better laps.

A good evening and I'm glad I made the effort.
