I went fishing agin with Simon today but this time at Gold Valley Lakes in Aldershot. We've both been before and have had good days and rubbish (no fish!) days. We got there at about 9.30 and left at 4pm. It was a gorgeous day but the wind was a little chilly. By about 3pm, neither of us had caught anything and I was preparing myself for another rubbish day there. At 3.30pm, while I was starting to pack up one of my reels started to run and low and behold a nice 5 1/2 lb common carp was on the end.
Not a wasted day after all.
This was thie tiddle in comparison that I caught last Sunday.
So, some progress is being made. You really do need a lot of patience though. It's worth it in the end because even the small carp put up a good fight.
