I heard the funniest story on the Radio 1 News at 07:30 this morning. In my bleary state I had to listen really hard as I couldn't quite believe it. I had to check it wasn't April 1st.
Apparently, details have emerged of a plan by the RAF during the 2nd World War to use pigeons for bombing runs over hostile territory. They were to be trained to have incendiary devices attached to their legs and then fly to a specific destiantion to deliver them. I wonder why that never got off the ground (pardon the pun!) - Could it be something to do with a pigeons natural homing tendencies! Last thing you want is for the little blighter to bring the thing right back to you. Find the full story here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3732755.stm
Another story during the same bulletin got me quite excited too. The prospect of a London F1 GP, ala Monaco style. That would be great.
